CHANGEIsrael has limited land and natural resources, one of the highest population densities in the world and is on the rise, and a large number of small settlements in relation to the amount of population. The continuation of this trend will cause gates, settlements and the rural and open space in Israel to fail to create a humane, harmonious and sustainable environment. Even those places that can form the basis of a healthy environment are destroyed or are today in danger as a result of the following factors:

• Suburb - decentralized, uncontrolled and borderless urban expansion.

• Neglect of city centers - degeneration and neglect of textures and historic neighborhoods and the exit of population, centers of commerce and employment from city centers to the margins.

• Erosion of public space due to heavy traffic and parking of private vehicles.

• Planning and development policy that prefers new development over strengthening existing ones.

• Continued damage to public space due to lack of enforcement and disregard for laws and regulations.
